Our History

Tuesday, March 9, 2004: A letter was sent out to a number of families about a home Bible study that would be “a bible-centered study and group gathering where a person’s sole interest is to develop biblical understanding and be encouraged with a good scholarly study of the Bible.”

November 19, 2004: Bible study core group and Gerry Webber, then president of Continental Baptist Missions, met to discuss next steps to plant a church. It was decided that the group will develop doctrinal and philosophical cohesion. Weekly Bible studies begin with a focus on building doctrinal and philosophical unity among the core group.

July 2005: During the annual business meeting of Fourth Baptist Church, Pastor McLachlan mentioned three great ministry objectives under “A Word from the Pastor.” They were:

  1. Reaching In
  2. Reaching Out
  3. Planting Churches.

He said, “Individual Christians give birth to new Christians through biblical evangelism. But it is the responsibility of churches to give birth to churches . . . Once again we are involved in a bi-monthly Bible study in Elk River, MN, that has the potential to develop into a church . . . Church planting should be a regular part of what we do as a body of believers at Fourth.”

We are a church plant out of Fourth Baptist Church in Plymouth, MN. Our initial focus of being a place that proclaims the Word of God remains the landmark for our future. In and for all these things, we give glory to God.
